Please read this document carefully and fully before your appointment. By proceeding with any work carried out by RAP Remaps, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms below.
A deposit may be taken before your appointment is confirmed. This deposit is non-refundable if you cancel without rearranging, or if your vehicle cannot be tuned due to pre-existing faults or having already been remapped by a third party. The deposit covers our labour, travel time, and fuel for mobile visits.
If your appointment is a mobile visit and we attend but are unable to complete the work for reasons within your control, a call-out charge may apply to cover our costs.
I confirm that my vehicle has been maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, including all relevant cambelt or timing chain intervals, and that it is in full and roadworthy condition at the time of the appointment.
RAP Remaps is not a garage and does not carry out mechanical repairs. We provide ECU remapping software services and mobile diagnostic visits only. You are responsible for ensuring your vehicle is in sound mechanical order before any tuning work is undertaken.
Carrying out a remap on a vehicle without a prior health check is entirely at your own risk. No warranty is given or implied to any components on your vehicle before or after the remapping process, except to the ECU software itself. In some cases, an ECU may fail during the tuning process — this can occasionally be unavoidable, and customers must be aware this is a known risk of ECU tuning on any vehicle.
Remapping vehicles registered before 2005 is carried out entirely at the customer's own risk. Older ECUs may be more susceptible to failure during read/write operations. We will advise you in advance if we consider your vehicle to carry elevated risk.
Common wear items — including clutch, DPF, turbo, coil packs, EGR valve, MAF sensor, and injectors — are serviceable parts that may require attention as part of normal vehicle maintenance. RAP Remaps does not accept liability for the failure of these or any other mechanical parts before, during, or after ECU remapping work. This includes parts that may have been weakened by use and were undetected at the time of the remap.
We strongly recommend a full diagnostic health check prior to any remapping work. We are not responsible for issues that arise from pre-existing fault codes or conditions not reported to us before the appointment.
RAP Remaps offers a warranty on ECU software only. All maps and calibration files are tested to a high standard and are written within safe parameters for your vehicle's hardware. However, this warranty is void if:
The software warranty applies to the original purchaser only and does not transfer to a new owner if the vehicle is sold.
We retain a backup of your original factory ECU file. Should you wish to return your vehicle to standard at any point — for a dealer visit, pre-sale check, or any other reason — we will restore the original file. Return to stock is subject to a fee of £75, and you must be able to demonstrate that the vehicle was tuned by us and that no third-party modifications have been made to the ECU since.
Any work relating to EGR, DPF, AdBlue, or other emissions systems is the customer's responsibility to ensure compliance with applicable road traffic legislation and emissions regulations for their vehicle's intended use. RAP Remaps accepts no liability for any legal or regulatory consequences arising from emissions-related work.
RAP Remaps does not recommend or endorse pops, bangs, crackle maps, or anti-lag strategies for road use. These features can cause accelerated wear and damage to the exhaust system, catalyst, turbo, and engine. They will only be added at the explicit written request of the customer, for off-road or competition use, and entirely at the customer's own risk.
Payment is due in full upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in advance. We accept bank transfer and cash. Part-payment or deposit arrangements must be confirmed before the appointment. Invoices are issued through the RAP Remaps customer portal.
Customers agree to refrain from posting false, misleading, or defamatory statements about RAP Remaps on any platform, without sufficient evidence that the issue was caused by our work. We take our reputation seriously and reserve the right to take legal action against false or damaging claims.
Please disclose any previous remaps, ghost alarms, immobiliser modifications, engine modifications, injector or turbo upgrades, or other non-standard equipment before your appointment. Failure to disclose relevant modifications may affect the quality of the tune and may result in additional charges. Any additional map correction required due to undisclosed modifications will be charged at a minimum of £75.
